412 Madison Street – The Christian House
The Christian House is Romanesque with Queen Anne details. It was built in 1897 by architect E.G. Frye for Frank P. Christian, a judge of the Corporation Court, director of the First National Bank of Lynchburg, and simultaneously president of three separate coal and coke companies. This house had the first coal stoker furnace in a private home in the city.
