207 Harrison Street – The Munford Tutor’s Cottage

This house was built as the tutor’s cottage and servant’s quarters for the home of John William Murrell who built an Italian Villa mansion at the south corner of Harrison and Second Streets in 1859-1860. General T.T. Munford, CSA, obtained the Murrell property in 1870, including the cottage at 207 Harrison.  The Tutor’s Cottage, originally only 4 rooms, has been expanded to eight.
